Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

JobsAlertSA respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, optional cellphone number and a securely hashed password.
  • Profile information you choose to add: location, skills, experience, education, job preferences and your CV.
  • Job alert preferences: keywords, categories, locations, frequency and delivery method.
  • Activity: saved jobs and the jobs you clicked to apply for, so you can track your applications.
  • Technical information: a hashed (not raw) version of your IP address for abuse prevention, and analytics about how pages are used.

How we use it

  • To run your account, show your saved jobs and send the alerts you asked for.
  • To keep the platform safe, for example rate-limiting and investigating reported listings.
  • To understand and improve the service through aggregated analytics.

We don’t sell your personal information. Your CV is private: it is not shown to employers or the public. If we introduce features that share your CV with employers, we will ask for your explicit permission first.

Cookies and advertising

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. If enabled, Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies to measure usage and show advertisements. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your information and object to processing. You can delete your CV and alerts from your dashboard at any time, or email hello@jobsalertsa.co.za to delete your account. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Security and retention

Passwords are hashed, CVs are stored privately and access is restricted. We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes above.
